Tonight we are celebrating.

We’ve got multiple reasons for a huge celebration.

The Bruckner Orchester Linz has the honor to perform the world premiere of Philip Glass’ Symphony No. 11 at Carnegie Hall in New York City on his 80th birthday in front of a big audience. Also on the program is “Ifé: Three Yoruba Songs for Voice and Orchestra” – Songs” sung by the brilliant singer Angelique Kidjo and Days and Nights in Rocinha. It’s very clear that tonight is going to be all about Philip Glass and his magnificent work as a composer. So his 80th birthday is the perfect moment for a CD release:
Philip Glass – Violin Concerto No. 1, Bernstein – Serenade After Plato’s Symposium”, starring Renaud Capucon, violin, conducted by Dennis Russell Davies. In 2005 and 2009 the Bruckner Orchester Linz toured the USA with Renaud Capucon as soloist. We are looking forward to celebrate with Philip Glass tonight at Carnegie Hall. It’s going to be a proud moment.

 Happy Birthday Philip Glass!
